The Graduated Approach
At Holte School, all staff follow the Graduated Approach as part of our commitment to inclusive practice. This process is a continuous cycle of:
Assess → Plan → Do → Review
This structured approach enables us to:
- Identify needs at the earliest opportunity.
- Plan appropriate support and interventions.
- Implement strategies and provision effectively.
- Review progress and evaluate impact.
- Adapt support where necessary.
The Graduated Approach ensures that provision remains responsive, personalised, and focused on improving outcomes for pupils.
Parents and carers are central to this process. We work closely with families to share information, discuss progress, and agree next steps, ensuring they remain fully involved in their child’s educational journey.
Where expected progress is not being achieved, the class teacher, SENDCo, parents/carers, and, where appropriate, external professionals will work together to identify further support and agree the most effective next steps.
