Extra-curricular Activities at Holte School
At Holte School, education extends beyond the classroom. We believe that every student should have the opportunity to discover their talents, develop new interests and experiences, and build the confidence and character to succeed. Our extra-curricular programme complements our ambitious curriculum, helping students to develop not only academically, but also socially, personally and emotionally.
We want every student at Holte to feel a sense of belonging, discover what they are capable of and be encouraged to try something new. Through opportunities in sport, the arts, academic enrichment, student leadership and a wide range of other activities, students can explore their interests, develop existing talents and discover new passions. We are particularly committed to providing opportunities that students may not otherwise be able to access beyond school.
Our extra-curricular provision reflects Holte’s core values of Collaboration, Aspiration, Responsibility, Equality and Respect. Whether students are representing the school in a sporting competition, performing on stage, taking part in a club, working as part of a team or taking on a leadership role, they learn to work with others, persevere when faced with challenges, take responsibility and celebrate each other’s achievements.
Participation also helps students develop valuable skills for life. Through shared experiences, they build friendships across year groups, strengthen their communication and teamwork, develop resilience and learn to approach unfamiliar challenges with confidence. These experiences broaden horizons, raise aspirations and help students recognise the contribution they can make to their school and wider community.
At Holte, we believe that enrichment should be accessible to all, not just those who already have the confidence or experience to participate. We aim to encourage every student to get involved, challenge themselves and make the most of the opportunities available to them. We want our students to experience success, develop new interests and create lasting memories as part of their time at Holte.
Our extra-curricular programme is an important part of our commitment to developing the whole child. By providing opportunities to participate, perform, compete, lead and collaborate, we help students grow into well-rounded young people who are ready to contribute positively to society.
We encourage every student to get involved, try something new and make the most of life at Holte.
