Preparing Sixth Form Students for their futures 

At Holte Sixth Form, we are committed to ensuring that every student is well prepared for their next steps. Our comprehensive careers programme provides high-quality guidance, information and experiences that help students make informed decisions about their futures and successfully progress to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment. 

Students benefit from a wide range of career-focused workshops and events throughout their time in Sixth Form, including sessions on career pathways, apprenticeships, university applications, UCAS, student finance and employability skills. Specialist workshops are also available for students interested in highly competitive careers such as medicine, dentistry, and engineering. 

Every student has access to individual careers interviews, providing personalised advice and guidance tailored to their aspirations and interests. In addition, students participate in dedicated Careers Days, Mock Interview Days, and employer engagement activities designed to develop confidence, professionalism, and workplace skills. 

To support progression to higher education, students have opportunities to attend university open days, visit university campuses and meet representatives from a range of universities who regularly visit the school. Apprenticeship providers and employers also work closely with the Sixth Form, ensuring students understand the full range of pathways available after Year 13. 

All Year 12 students are encouraged to undertake meaningful work experience, enabling them to gain valuable insight into the workplace, develop key employability skills and explore potential career options. 

Students also have access to Unifrog, an online careers platform that helps them research careers, explore university and apprenticeship opportunities, track applications and make informed choices about their future pathways. 

Through our extensive careers and guidance programme, students leave Holte Sixth Form with the knowledge, experiences and confidence needed to take their next steps successfully.
