Holte is part of the Birmingham Careers Hub. As such we have been matched with an Enterprise Adviser, Jordan Rees, Wilmott Dixon.
An Enterprise Adviser works directly with the school Careers Team to support their careers programme. They combine their passion for raising the aspirations of young people with their strategic skills to help plan and put opportunities with local employers at the heart of a young person’s education.
As an employer, you can support all our students significantly and help us to achieve our goals. We are committed to supporting our pupils to make a positive transition out of secondary school life, equipped for the world of work with the skills required to solve industry challenges and the knowledge to ensure a successful future.
Examples of how you can help:
- Attending a Careers Fair or networking event
- Offering work experience or work visits
- Offering a visit to your place of work
- Careers Talks
- Student Mentoring
- Promoting STEM careers
Our school is always looking to develop links with employers to help meet Benchmarks 4, 5 and 6. To find out how you can get involved please contact the Careers Leader Ms Sadique who can be contacted by telephone 0121 566 4370 extension 23102 or by email y.sadique@holte.bham.sch.uk

We at Holte School strive at all times to conform to the current “best practices” in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance laid down by the government. CEIAG is seen as an integral part of the curriculum, which is available to every pupil and follows the 8 principles set out by the Gatsby Benchmarks as recommend by the DfE’s Careers Strategy (2017).
The 8 Gatsby Benchmarks
- Stable careers programme
2. Learning from career and labour market information
3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
5. Encounters with employers and employees
6. Experiences of workplaces
7. Encounters with further and higher education
8. Personal guidance
In addition to this, any advice or guidance given to pupil is personalised and appropriate. We also believe that working with outside agencies is an invaluable part of CEIAG curriculum on offer. Some useful websites are listed below.
