Physical EducationPE

The National Curriculum for Physical Education aims to ensure that all pupils:

  • Develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
  • Are physically active for sustained periods of time
  • Engage in competitive sports and activities
  • Lead healthy, active lives.

We aim to instil excellent safety practice in this highly practical subject and teach pupils to value professionalism in their approach to sport. Healthy lifestyles are promoted at all times, teaching pupils to respect themselves and each other. We deliver high quality Physical Education which inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport. We provide opportunities to compete in sport and other activities which build character and help embed values such as fairness and respect.

Pupils are encouraged not only to become competent performers but also develop their skills as leaders, officials and their ability to analyse performance.
